We remind you that Ponta Delgada airport does not have a dedicated international area, so passengers traveling from Cape Verde to North America or vice versa and stopping over in Ponta Delgada for more than 3 hours will have to go through customs and may need a visa, depending on the passport they are traveling with.
Therefore, in the event of a flight change in Ponta Delgada, a visa may be required depending on the stay.

If staying overnight in Ponta Delgada, please be aware that the airport closes from 00:00 until 05:00.
